Take Charge Of Your Diabetes

Oak Park Township’s Senior Services Lunch Program is hosting a “Take Charge of Your Diabetes” health workshop.  During this six-week program participants will learn about healthy eating, pain management, and medication.  This program will also address how to communicate with family and medical professionals.  The workshops will be held at 130 S. Oak Park Avenue for six consecutive Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

With Aug. 15th deadline, Oak Park Township survey will help guide communications campaign to curb underage drinking

In only five minutes, parents and guardians of 8th through12th graders can help Oak Park Township officials working to reduce underage consumption of alcohol in Oak Park and River Forest.

Board of Review Appeals Accepted From August 1st to August 30th, 2017

The Cook County Board of Review has announced that it will be accepting appeals of the assessed valuations of Oak Park properties between August 1 and August 30, 2017.  According to Oak Park Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar, this appeal period marks the second opportunity Oak Park property owners will have to appeal their 2017 assessed values.

Oak Park property owners concerned about their property taxes have an opportunity to do something about next year’s tax bills.  According to Oak Park Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar, Oak Park property owners can now appeal their 2017 assessed values with the Cook County Board of Review.  The township is offering residents two ways to get help in filing an appeal.

Representatives from the Oak Park Township Senior Services Dept. will be at West Suburban Medical Center to offer information on the various local, state and federal programs available to senior adults and their caregivers.  Clients will be given customized information based on their unique needs.

2017 Farmers' Market Senior Citizen Coupons Available July 10th

2017 Farmers’ Market Senior Citizen Voucher Coupon Program

Begins July 10th

A limited number of coupons for the Oak Park Farmers’ Market are available to suburban Cook County seniors aged 60 and over with a maximum gross monthly income of $1860 or less for single individuals or $2504 for a household of two. Those applying will receive one 5-coupon booklet per person per year worth $25.00.  The coupons can be given to vendors at the Farmers’ Market in exchange for fresh fruits and vegetables.
