EARLIEST DUE DATE FOR PROPERTY TAXES IN A GENERATION

Cook County property tax bills this year will be mailed in late June and should be due August 1. This will mark the earliest mailing date and due date for second installment tax bills in more than thirty years.

Two citizen-initiated advisory referenda on Township Annual Meeting agenda

Oak Park Township is offering extended hours for voter registration at the Township Hall, 105 S. Oak Park Avenue, for those wishing to vote in the March 20, 2012 Primary Election. The last day to register before the election is Tuesday, February 21. In addition to offering voter registration during the regular office hours of Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Clerk's Office will be open to accommodate residents during the following additional times: Wednesday and Thursday evenings, February 15 & 16, until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 18, from 9 a.m.

The Township Board and staff extend a special “Thank You” to the parent creators of the IMP.A.C.T. organization of “Parents and Community Together to reduce youth alcohol & drug use.” For the past 14 years, Oak Park and River Forest taxing units have supported the Township Youth Interventionist team to counter youth substance abuse across all jurisdictions. IMP.A.C.T. has expanded that commitment, activating parents and community leaders to raise parent awareness of their essential role in addressing youth behavior. IMP.A.C.T.
