Artist Howard McClain Exhibit at Township Senior Services

During April, Oak Park Township Senior Services, in partnership with the Oak Park Area Arts Council, is pleased to present the artwork of Howard McClain. The show is titled “Retrospective.” Howard’s artwork has been embraced by the Chicagoland area where he has had several successful showings these past few years. Howard started painting in Artist, Nancy Fong’s Art class, at the Oak Park Arms located in The Life Long Learning Center.

Howard was raised singing in the church with McClain Family Singers. He performed with the Thompson Community Singers, sang Rhythm & Blues with the Golden Tones, The Kool Gents & Dream Makers. He has been a Choir Director/organist & pianist for 50 years and toured Italy in 2004 with his wife & organist, Mary Chapman, an internationally well known Chicago based musician. He also sang with the Gospel Group: The Star Specials. Music was and is today a major part of his life.

He continues to perform in churches, special events, the Monday Night Concert Series, senior centers and school. Most recently, he was honored with yet another standing ovation for his singing in A Monday Night Concert. Howard has been inducted to The John Marshall High School Alumni Association Hall of fame in celebration of his many talents.

This exhibit is presented in partnership with the Oak Park Area Arts Council and is at the Oak Park Township Senior Services Building, 130 S. Oak Park Avenue during the month of April 2018.
