COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH BOARD > PARTNERS

The CMHB provides financial support for the following programs and services to enhance the well-being and quality of life for the mentally ill, developmentally disabled and those afflicted with alcohol and/or substance abuse.

Community Care Options (Fillmore Center)

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Program provides intensive outpatient therapy to seriously emotionally impaired children and adolescents. The Interpersonal Learning Center & Job Coach provides psychiatric rehabilitation in conjunction with vocational rehabilitation for the seriously mentally ill. Substance Abuse program is designed to address issues underlying substance abuse, focusing on adolescents resistant to previous treatment recommendations.

Community Support Program / Oak Park River Forest High School

This program is designed to link students with mental health and substance abuse needs to services in the community. Prevention/education programs are also a high priority.

Community Support Services

A social service agency that serves the developmentally disabled and their families by providing respite services. Options are available to best meet individual needs including in-home services, community based service, and evening/weekend group services.

Family Service and Mental Health Center of Oak Park-River Forest

CMHB funds the following services and programs of this community mental health center servicing Oak Park and River Forest:

Adult Outpatient and Care Management Services - these programs provide therapeutic and psychiatric rehabilitation resources to stabilize seriously mentally ill following hospitalization and prevent further hospitalization.

Transitional Learning Center - provides social support, treatment and daily structure so as to assist toward the highest level of functioning.

Emergency Psychiatric Services - a 24-hour, 7-day per week program to provide immediate professional response to psychiatric crises in the community.

At Risk Youth Services - provides individual, family, group therapy and immediate crisis response to at-risk behaviors of youth.

Services for Adults, Families & Youth - provides short term treatment to individual, couple, and group addressing emotional dysfunction. Sliding fee scale.

Prevention (Substance Abuse)- coordinates and facilitates existing prevention activities and resources.

Community Drug Fee/Safe Schools - program providing clinical services of assessment, crisis intervention/stabilization, counseling, and referral.

Hephzibah Children's Association

The Family Support Program's emphasis is to improve accessibility to the support network for children and families in Oak Park.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (Metro Suburban)

NAMI operates the Drop-In Center for the mentally ill, providing supervised opportunities for recreation and socialization. The program specifically follows a grass roots rather that a "mental health professional" oriented service model.

Oak Leyden Developmental Services

This agency provides a wide array of facilitative and rehabilitative services to individuals with developmental disabilities from birth through adulthood:

    Developmental Training - vocational training and services for adults with developmental disabilities.

    Early Intervention / 0-3 Program - designed for children from birth to age 3 who are risk or have a developmental disability.

    Supported Employment - designed to locate, obtain and develop community based jobs for people with disabilities 18 or older; provides placement service and on-site job coaching.

    Clinic - provides improved access to care, integration and coordination of services to DD population.

Oak Park Township Senior Services

Senior Services provides case management services to Oak Park residents including assessment, planning, and follow-up. Through early identification and early intervention, at-risk seniors are able to maintain independent community living.

Parenthesis

Parenthesis provides services and support to single parents and teen parents. The Family Wrap Program provides intensive counseling, educational services and postpartum depression support groups.

Sarah's Inn

This agency provides services to children and adults involved in the consequences of domestic violence. The array of services offered includes counseling support groups, 24-hour hotline, coping/problem solving education for children, subsidized housing, court and systems advocacy.

Seguin Services, Inc.

Seguin Services provides residential and habilitative services to developmentally disabled adults in Oak Park and neighboring suburban communities. Programs funded are Community Training Program and Community Employment Alternatives.

Suburban Access

This program focuses on developmentally disabled students transitioning from Oak Park River Forest High School and children transitioning from 0-3 Programs into Early Childhood Programs. The goal is to increase knowledge and access to resources responsive to their needs.

Unified Services Plan

USP provides case management services to Oak Park & River Forest adults with serious mental illness. It is designed to assist clients in increased community integration, independence and skill development.

Vital Bridges (formerly Community Response)

This agency services the mental health needs of HIV/AIDS affected residents using existing community agencies. Comprehensive service planning includes child welfare, case management, and mental health counseling needs.

Volunteer Center

The ENUF (Education to Nullify Usage by First Timers) Program offers 12 hours of education/ prevention to youth referred for underage drinking violations and soft-drug use experimentation.

Way Back Inn (Grateful House Program)

This program provides rehabilitation and support services through residential, outpatient and after care services for the female alcoholic/drug abuser.

West Suburban P.A.D.S.

Project WIN is a multi-region, multi-agency, multi-service collaboration, designed to overcome the obstacles which perpetuate the cycle of homelessness in those with mental or chronic medical illness. Services include case management, medication management, crisis intervention and treatment referral.
